FAQ

  • How do I know my diamonds are real?
With over 15 years experience in buying and selling diamonds, you can be confident that every diamond you buy from Gabor is authentic. Our qualified team are trained in the science of gemology and inspect each piece of jewellery before it is sold. We look for the 4 Cs - Colour, Clarity, Cut and Carat. By identifying these factors we’re able to determine not only the authenticity of a diamond but also its quality. To give you even more peace of mind, each diamond ring comes with an authentication certificate from the leading diamond authentication service in the UK Anchorcert Gem Lab 💎
  • What if the ring I like isn’t my size?
Good news - most rings can be resized!  There are a number of things we need to take into consideration when resizing a ring, so what can be achieved will depend on both the history of the ring (whether it has been resized before) and what changes you want to achieve.  If you see a ring you love that isn’t quite your size, reach out to us to discuss your resizing options.  Take a look at our "at home" ring sizer so see what your ring sizes are:
  • Can I part-ex my jewellery and swap to an item I have seen online?
Yes! We can look into buying and part exchanging any gold and gemstones. Contact us with details and images of your item(s) and we can take a look for you!
  • How do I find out my ring size?
The most accurate is to use a ring sizer. We offer these with detailed instructions and will post them out to you. If you're looking at converting from US or EUR to UK, see our concersion chart. Any problems, just give us a shout on our chatbox!
  • How do I know which rings are Antique?
The definition of ‘antique’ in the jewellers world is anything over 75 years old. However, you’ll often see people use other phrases such as ‘vintage’ which is a little more vague. Vintage jewellery is traditionally between 50-75 years old, but as sustainable shopping has become more common practice, this term is now often used for younger pieces of jewellery that have been previously owned for a shorter number of years.  We will always only mark items as ‘antique’ if we’re certain they meet the official threshold. See our Antique jewellery here! 💎
  • What does ‘Hallmarking’ mean?
In the UK all jewellery items sold must be Hallmarked. These 'marks' are made up by a succession of symbols that experts can read to determine the authenticity and fineness of a particular precious metal. The UK has controlled the jewellery industry since as early as the year 1300! The Assay Offices ensure that the public are receiving the jewellery they are paying for. All our items have been authorised for sale by the Hallmarking Offices You can read more about the history of hallmarking by clicking here: https://theassayoffice.com/current-and-historic-assay-offices
  • Can I send my item as a gift?
Yes! When you place your order, just pop a note in the ‘comments’ section on checkout to tell us it is a gift and whether you would like a personalised message included. We’ll then put your message onto a card included in the delivery, and we’ll make sure we don’t include an invoice! As with all our items, your gift will be beautifully packaged so your receiver gets something truly special in the mail. Take advantage of our helpful 1-1 service so you can find out what other jewellery pieces we may have on offer that isn't on our website! Feel free to fill our "Your Request" questionnaire to help us find the perfect piece you're looking for 💎
  • What is included in your 1-1 consultations?
Our 1-1 consultations are all about you, so each session might be a little different.  We can do individual sessions or small groups of no more than 5 people.  In these sessions we’ll get to know a little more about you, what’s important to you in a piece of jewellery and your tastes. We will then present you with a selection of jewellery that we believe fulfils your desires. We’ll also go through the process of sizing you for items to make sure they’re the perfect fit and can arrange any adjustments where necessary. See our all our services that we can offer here!
